In this presentation the author will describe the different connective tissues and the universal extracellular matrix that composes it. We will discuss the normal wear and tear that occur with ageing. We will also present the outcome of accelerated degradation of the connective tissues in diseases and other conditions. What are the type of therapeutic interventions one can use to treat such conditions, both pharmaceutical and natural approaches?
